In 2005 I found myself spending upwards of $200 a month on simple organic products, trying to avoid daily exposure to SLS and other harmful chemicals on my face, skin and hair.  Soon, I began to question if there wasn't a better (and cheaper!) way to achieve a natural beauty regime.  After a year of chemistry, experimentation and research, I hit upon a base recipe for soap and then body butters that was a wonderful success. A small, handmade batch of soap is about 20 pounds of soap, and though my family and I loved whatever I was working on, we found ourselves with an excess of certain soaps, and offered them for sale on the web in 2006. They sold quickly, so I kept coming up with new formulas and combinations. Body butters followed not long afterwards.

With the first brick and mortar store opened in 2009, and three more following in quick order, talking one-on-one with our customers has become an invaluable tool.
